Playing EU4 lets you learn about a lot of the world. But sometimes the world of EU4 is limiting. I was playing as Castille and was quite successful. I had annexed Aragon and had Portugal as a colonizing vassal, soon to be annexed (seriously, never seen it before when a vassal aggressively colonizes.) Then came the big day. I had a marrige with France and the king died without an heir. I was nervous to declare a succesion war as it was against Austria and the HRE. But I did it. In the end, I believe more than 750,000 lives had been lost in a brutal and bloody war, but I managed to succesfully capture the capital of France and Austria.
To commerate this victory, I created a new even: Formation of Franco-Hispania. You need to control at least 10 french-region provinces and the capitol and 10 spanish-region provinces as well as the capital. I created a new flag. First I did the spanish flag with the french fleur-de-ilse, but it didnt look all to great. In the end I decided to go with this flag.
So it became, after annexing all of portugal, the Kingdom of Franco-Hispania came to be. After that, everybody wanted to be our friend. I eventually got an alliance with The Netherlands and helped them expand there territory to Denmark and got another Personal Union, this time over Italy
